Treysan Modular Building Solutions for AI and Data Center Infrastructure

What Is a Data Center, and Why Is It More Critical Than Ever?

A data center is a technical facility that houses servers, data storage systems and network equipment, together with the electrical, cooling, security and control infrastructure required for continuous operation. Within this ecosystem, Treysan focuses on the engineering and manufacture of modular technical buildings and supporting infrastructure spaces that house these systems safely, securely and under controlled conditions.

Rapid growth in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and high-density computing applications is accelerating demand for data center infrastructure. According to the International Energy Agency, electricity consumption by data centers increased by 17% in 2025 and is expected to nearly double to 950 TWh by 2030. JLL’s 2026 outlook also projects global data center capacity to grow at an average annual rate of 14% through 2030, with approximately 100 GW of new capacity expected to come online between 2026 and 2030.

Rising power density driven by AI workloads is increasing the engineering and integration demands placed on electrical infrastructure, cooling systems and the technical spaces that support them. As a result, critical spaces such as data halls, electrical rooms, control rooms, UPS rooms and battery rooms must be delivered faster through controlled, scalable methods. From hyperscale facilities to edge deployments, prefabricated and modular delivery models are becoming an integral part of this transformation.

Treysan’s Role in Data Center Projects

Depending on the project scope, Treysan can become involved at the design stage, when the building system and modularization strategy are defined. We develop project-specific modular building systems by evaluating local climatic and environmental conditions, equipment layouts, operational and maintenance clearances, equipment loads and logistics constraints as an integrated whole.

Within our scope, equipment and systems can be integrated into the modules at our manufacturing facility. Subject to project requirements, the modules and integrated systems undergo quality control and, where required, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) before shipment to verify compliance with the technical specifications and project acceptance criteria. Approved modules are then transported to site for final assembly and system integration.

Fully Welded Modular Building Solutions

In Treysan’s fully welded modular building solutions, each module is manufactured at our facility as a self-contained volumetric unit with a fully welded structural steel frame. Buildings that are too large to transport as a single unit are engineered as multiple fully welded modules and assembled on site using engineered inter-module connections.

Module dimensions and structural systems are defined with due consideration for climatic conditions and site-specific wind, snow, seismic and corrosion requirements, as well as equipment loads, maintenance access and clearances, MEP penetrations and interfaces, transport envelope limits and site assembly conditions.

Structural design addresses not only immediate load cases but also the project’s intended design working life as a key input. The building’s intended use, environmental exposure, corrosivity conditions, maintenance strategy and the requirements of applicable codes and standards are evaluated together to achieve long-term structural durability and in-service performance.

This approach allows technical spaces such as data halls, control rooms, electrical rooms, UPS rooms and battery rooms to be configured by combining multiple modules. Inter-module connection details are engineered to maintain structural continuity, continuity of the thermal envelope and insulation, and the project-specific airtightness and watertightness requirements.

Performance requirements are defined on a project-specific basis. In addition to structural capacity, criteria such as fire resistance, thermal performance and insulation, airtightness and watertightness, corrosion protection and relevant environmental performance requirements are incorporated into the design and manufacturing process, as applicable to the project scope. The modular building is therefore treated not merely as a physical enclosure, but as an engineered solution designed to support the safe, reliable and controlled operation of the critical equipment housed within it.

Where future capacity expansion is considered during the initial design, the modular configuration can enable additional units to be integrated into the system and capacity to be increased progressively in line with project requirements.

Certified Manufacturing Capabilities

Reliability in mission-critical technical buildings such as data centers depends not only on sound engineering, but also on controlled, traceable and repeatable welded fabrication processes. Treysan’s welded fabrication capabilities are supported by certification to EN ISO 3834-2, steelwork execution capability up to Execution Class 3 (EXC3) under EN 1090, and a DNV Welding Workshop Approval Certificate. Welding activities are performed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), project specifications and applicable personnel qualification requirements, helping to ensure consistent weld quality and traceability throughout production.

To date, Treysan has been involved in more than 55 fully welded modular building projects across four continents. The experience gained across diverse climates, logistics routes, site conditions and technical specifications is directly applied to the precision manufacturing, modular integration and quality control processes required for data center projects.

Our design, manufacturing and quality control processes are carried out within the framework of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Project-specific performance requirements are embedded throughout the production workflow, from design inputs and material selection to welded fabrication, final inspection and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), in accordance with the applicable technical specifications, international standards, and testing and certification criteria.

Treysan’s Role in a Global Data Center Collaboration

Under the Memorandum of Understanding announced in March 2026, IC Holding, Future Enerji and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries launched a strategic collaboration aimed at taking data center solutions developed in Türkiye to global markets.

Extending from modular systems to hyperscale facilities, the Joint Solution model brings together Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ expertise in modular system design, engineering and critical equipment; IC Holding’s construction capabilities; Future Enerji’s investment and structuring capabilities; and Treysan’s manufacturing strength in modular system components.

Within this collaboration, Treysan contributes its engineering, manufacturing and integration capabilities in fully welded modular building systems and modular system components to the Joint Solution model. In doing so, we bring 50 years of experience and internationally certified steel fabrication capabilities to a new generation of data center investments, from modular deployments to hyperscale facilities.
